Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home that has a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens nsfas application and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
